Homa poured in four straight birdies on the back nine to reach solo second at −19, his best result in over three years. Gotterup’s whole game runs on the driver, and that skill travels.

The Sunday That Rhymed

Our featured contest, the 11-entry John Deere Classic, got its own Gotterup impression. Chuck Diesel carried a one-shot lead into Sunday at −64, a single stroke up on Jamie K at −63. Then he did exactly what the champ did: posted the low round when it mattered. His −33 Sunday was the best final-round total in the field, and it turned a one-shot squeaker into a four-shot runaway. Chuck Diesel wins at −97; Jamie K takes second at −93. Sometimes the fantasy card rhymes with the real one.
