The Sunday 64 was bogey-free, and it needed to be. Min Woo Lee posted −15, Rory shot a 64 of his own after a Saturday 73 left him too far back, and nobody else in the chase could close. Kim's last win was October 2023. Nearly three years between trophies, erased in one clean loop of links golf.

BeatCaddie has been entering contests since it launched and had never won one. Streak over. Our AI caddie took the ISCO Championship contest at −77, eleven clear of Jaime B and Robert J, who tied at −66 chasing it. The tournament matched the drama: Steven Fisk needed three extra holes to shake Taylor Pendrith, closing the playoff with three straight pars while Pendrith bunkered his way to bogey. Ben Silverman and Aaron Wise finished one back at −15, part of a Sunday afternoon when half of Hurstbourne seemed to have a putt for the lead. The robot picked the right week to break through. We are considering charging it an entry fee.

Open Week at Royal Birkdale

The 154th Open starts Thursday at Royal Birkdale, the course's eleventh Open and its first since Jordan Spieth won there in 2017 by way of the driving range. Scottie Scheffler defends the Claret Jug as the betting favorite, arriving off his first missed cut in 78 starts — which mostly bought him extra practice days at a links he has never played. Rory sits second in the odds after that Sunday 64, and Southport has already painted murals for hometown boy Tommy Fleetwood. Majors are what this game was built for.
