Memphis looked like a tournament until Sunday. Scheffler closed with a 66, Sam Burns went 73, Sungjae Im 74, and a tight leaderboard became an eight-shot win. His $23 million FedExCup bonus is locked. The trophy at East Lake is not.

Rounds of 68, 61, 68 and 66 at TPC Southwind. Si Woo Kim took second at 9 under, with Sam Burns and Alex Noren a shot further back at 8 under. Scheffler is now a lock for the FedExCup's top bonus position, and the clear favorite when the field reaches East Lake.

Contest Winners

Four contests settled. Chris L. took the main FedEx St. Jude board at 62 under across 14 entries, four clear of Charles K. Our own BeatCaddie finished fifth. In the five-player FedX, Jack L. gave back six penalty strokes and still finished third.

Where the eight shots came from

The 61 on Friday was Scheffler's biggest round, and it did not end the tournament: Sam Burns answered with a 62 on Saturday. Sunday ended it. Where the eight shots came from is the more interesting question. Scheffler gained 8.92 strokes putting, the best putting week of his career, and rolled in something like 383 feet of putts. He hit 55 of 72 greens, which is excellent and, unlike the putting, repeatable. Strip the putter back to his normal and this is a comfortable three-or-four-shot win rather than a runaway. Worth remembering before you pay up for him twice more.

Version 1.2.0 is live in both stores

Version 1.2.0 landed in the App Store and on Google Play last week. The centerpiece is the player directory — browse or search every PGA TOUR player, with profiles, season stats and recent results, and golfer names now open a profile from any leaderboard, roster or scorecard. Scorecards gained traditional score-to-par notation, circles for birdies, squares for bogeys, a gold star for an ace, plus per-hole yardage. Contests share straight from the leaderboard now.
