Four rounds, none worse than 67. On the one day East Lake bared its teeth, he shot 66 while his closest chasers, Viktor Hovland and Ryan Gerard, both signed for 72. A second FedEx Cup puts him in company only Tiger and Rory have kept.

Chris E. took the sixteen-team headliner at −83, two clear of Jeremy L. The Championship contest finished dead level at −39, Drew S. edging Jack L. on the tiebreaker. Jeremy L. consoled himself by winning his four-player group by a single stroke.

The coronation copy writes itself. Two playoff wins, a second FedEx Cup, the all-time money crown pried from Tiger at $130,390,661. But Player of the Year is not sealed, whatever the wire stories imply. Scheffler's three wins are tied for the season lead with Gotterup, Matt Fitzpatrick, and U.S. Open champ Wyndham Clark, and none of his three came at a major.

His case is the floor: three straight solo seconds at majors, plus the first multi-win playoff run since Hovland in 2023. So the peer vote becomes a referendum, relentless versus memorable. For your 2027 rosters, the bigger tell is that the wins finally spread out. The Scheffler tax has real competition.

The Tour doesn't stop this fall, it downshifts, and the stakes get desperate in the best way. Fall winners still bank 500 FedExCup points, a two-year exemption, and spots in THE PLAYERS and The Sentry. Players ranked 51 through 70 are playing their way into the first two Signature Events after The Sentry. Everyone at 71 or worse is scrapping to finish inside the top 100 and keep full status, while 101 through 125 means conditional status, with Q-School there to improve it.
