Follow Every Shot: A Big Summer Update

Jeremy King

We've been busy. All summer long, we've been shipping upgrade after upgrade across Leaderboard Fantasy — on the web and in the mobile app — and they all point at the same goal: putting you closer to the action. Closer to your golfers, closer to your standings, and closer to the friends you're battling for the title. Sunday's back nine is about to feel a whole lot more alive. Here's what's new.

Follow the action, live

This is the big one. The tournament leaderboard is now genuinely live on both web and mobile. Scores update on their own as they come in from the course — no pull-to-refresh, no guessing whether you're looking at stale numbers. When a player climbs or slides, the leaderboard animates the move, so you actually see the shake-up happen instead of hunting for it.

Chasing one specific golfer? Search the field in real time and jump straight to them. Want the whole story of a round? Tap into the hole-by-hole scorecard and watch it unfold shot by shot — birdies, bogeys, and that one triple that quietly wrecked your afternoon.

And if you can't be glued to your phone all weekend, you don't have to be. Turn on live score alerts and we'll ping you the moment your golfers make a move. Grill's going, phone's in your pocket, and you'll still know the second your sleeper pick catches fire.

Standings you can trust

Live scoring only matters if the numbers are right — so we sweated the details that used to cause head-scratching. Missed cuts, withdrawals, and no-shows now apply the correct penalties every time. The app tracks the round that's actually being played instead of miscounting on opening day. Golfers with no score for a round show a clear "DNP" rather than a mysterious blank. And when a contest comes down to the wire, we now spell out — in plain English — exactly how the tiebreaker was decided. No more wondering why you finished second.

A smarter Caddie

Your AI Caddie leveled up. It's now stats-aware, which means it can actually reason about season-long player numbers when you ask who to trust this week. It also understands the live state of a tournament — whether registration is still open, whether the field has locked — so its advice fits the moment instead of talking in generalities. Best of all, it's riding along in more places now, including right on the contest and leaderboard screens. Help is there the instant a question pops into your head.

Share the fun, explore more

Let's be honest: half the fun is the bragging rights. Now you can share a contest, roster, result, or group in a single tap. If your buddy has the app, the link drops them straight into the action. If they don't, they land on a clean public page with a big, friendly button to join the fun — no dead ends, no "you must log in first."

We also pulled more of the platform into one place. In-app golf news keeps you current, a scoring and tiebreak FAQ answers the "wait, how does that work?" questions, your full contest history is a tap away, and the blog now lives right inside the mobile app. Over on the web, brand-new public player profile and stats pages let you scout the field before you draft.

A friendlier experience

Then there are the dozens of little touches that add up to a better feel. The home screen now leads with your contests and shows your live placement right on the card, so the first thing you see is where you stand. You can tap almost any player's name to pull up their profile. You can react to message-board posts with a Like, Laugh, Love, or Fire. You can fill a roster in seconds with Quick Pick. And underneath it all sits a long list of polish and reliability fixes that make the whole thing quicker and smoother.

So do this: update the app, open your next contest, and follow every shot this weekend at https://leaderboardfantasy.com. We think you're going to love it.
